SCALE FOR ACCOUNTING, EVALUATION, AND ANALYSIS OF HEALTH CARE COSTS FOR COVID-19 PATIENTS
Resolution No. 001/2021, dated January 18, 2021, issued by the Minister of the Popular Power for National Trade, was published in Official Gazette No. 42.053 of January 22, 2021 (the Resolution). The Resolution establishes the scale for the accounting, evaluation and analysis of health care costs for patients with COVID- 19. Through said scale the behavior of fair prices at private health institutions nationwide will be evaluated.
The fair price to be applied to health care of COVID-19 patients, generated as per the scale established in the Resolution, must be paid in Bolivars and calculated on the basis of the value of the sovereign cryptoasset “PETRO” set by the National Superintendence of Cryptoassets and Connected Activities (Superintendencia Nacional de Criptoactivos y Actividades Conexas – SUNACRIP) and published in its official web page, on the date when the invoice is issued.
The Resolution establishes the scale for (i) medicines, (ii) medical supplies, (iii) services and examinations and (vi) medical staff, establishing a minimum limit and a maximum limit for the first three items and a maximum limit for the last one. All scales are reflected in PETROS.
The National Superintendence for the Defense of Socioeconomic Rights (Superintendencia Nacional para la Defensa de los Derechos Socioeconómicos – SUNDDE) is in charge of supervising and ensuring compliance with the Resolution by applying the relevant procedures under the current legislation.
The Resolution became effective upon publication of the same in the Official Gazette.
