REPEAL OF THE LAW OF REGULARIZATION OF CONSTITUTIONAL AND LEGAL PERIODS OF STATE AND MUNICIPAL PUBLIC AUTHORITIES.
The Law that Repeals the Law of Regularization of Constitutional and Legal Periods of State and Municipal Public Authorities, issued by the National Assembly, was published in Official Gazette No. 42.082 of March 8, 2021 (the Repealing Law). It fully repeals the Law of Regularization of Constitutional and Legal Periods of State and Municipal Public Authorities (the Repealed Law) published in Official Gazette No. 6.013 Extraordinary of December 23, 2010.
The purpose of the Repealed Law was to regulate the uniformity and simultaneity of the ordinary start and end of the constitutional and legal periods of the popularly-elected positions of governor, mayor, legislator of the state legislative councils and councilors of city, district, and metropolitan councils, which periods were to be adjusted to the time and conditions established in said Law.
The Repealing Law became effective upon publication of the same in the Official Gazette of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela.
