Litigation, Arbitration and Other Methods of Dispute Resolution
We represent clients in civil and commercial litigation, including lawsuits and arbitration proceedings related to international agreements, engineering, procurement and construction agreements (EPC contracts); agency, distribution, association and supply agreements, as well as in the enforcement of any type of contracts and guaranties, leases, collections, bankruptcies and moratorium; claims on unfair competition, defective products and damages in general, among others.
Several of our litigation lawyers are currently professors of law in Civil Procedure, Negotiation, Arbitration and Alternative Methods of Dispute Resolution (ADR), at the most prestigious universities in the country. Our experience includes International and Domestic Arbitration, especially under the rules of the Arbitration Centre of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), the International Center for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID), the Business Center of Conciliation and Arbitration (CEDCA), and the Caracas Chamber of Commerce (CCC).
Attorneys that have been members of our litigation department have participated in the drafting of the Code of Civil Procedure currently in force, the Law of Judicial Career, and the Regulations of the Business Center of Conciliation and Arbitration (CEDCA).
Our attorneys are also experienced in negotiations to reach extrajudicial agreements, as well as other alternative means of dispute resolution such as mediation and conciliation. Our Firm’s litigators have been traditionally classified among the best in the country, especially with respect to appeals before the Supreme Tribunal of Justice in civil and mercantile matters.
