EXTENSION OF THE PERIOD OF EFFECTIVENESS OF THE DECLARATION OF ENERGY EMERGENCY OF THE HYDROCARBON INDUSTRY
Decree No. 4.436 of February 19, 2021, issued by the Presidency of the Republic, was published in Official Gazette No. 42.071 of the same date (the Decree). The Decree extends the period of effectiveness of the declaration of energy emergency of the hydrocarbon industry, with the purpose of adopting the necessary measures for assuring national energy safety.
Likewise, the period of the “Presidential Commission for Defense, Restructuring, and Reorganization of the National Oil Industry Alí Rodríguez Araque” (the Commission) is extended. The Decree establishes the purpose, powers, structure, and individuals that will form the same.
The Decree also prescribes that the agencies and entities of the National Public Administration, the companies and other private associative forms are under the obligation to cooperate with the Commission in the exercise of its functions.
The Decree will be effective for twelve (12) months following publication of the same in the Official Gazette.
