Single Guide for Transportation, Monitoring, and Control of Medicines
A Joint Resolution of the Ministries of the Popular Power for Health, for the Social Process of Work, and for Commerce was published in Official Gazette No. 40,509 of October 1, 2014. Said Resolution implements the Single Guide for Transportation, Monitoring, and Control of Medicines established in the Integral System of Control of Medicines (Sistema Integral de Control de Medicamentos – “SICM”), with the purpose of controlling and following up the importation of raw material for manufacturing medicines, finished products, the inventories, and the receipt and dispatch in all of the chain of commercialization and distribution of medicines and other pharmaceutical products and any other activity related to this matter in all the country, including under special border regimes.
The Resolution provides that the control posts of the Bolivarian National Guard or the police, civil, and military authorities must require the Single Guide for Transportation, Monitoring, and Control of Medicines and inform Farmapatria, C.A. of any anomaly in the origin, destination, and data of the transportation of medicines.
The Resolution became effective upon its publication in the Official Gazette.
