Contribution - Superintendence of the Insurance Activity
Resolution No. 060 of the Ministry of the Popular Power for Finance was published in Official Gazette No. 40.279 of October 24, 2013. Said Resolution fixes the amount of the contribution that the insurance and reinsurance companies, the companies engaged in prepaid medicine, and the legal persons that finance premiums are bound to contribute during economic year 2014 in order to finance the operation of the Superintendence of the Insurance Activity. The Resolution fixes such contribution at one point five percent (1.5%) of the total of:
(i) the net premiums charged on account of insurance contracts and the consideration on account of issue of bonds, in the cases of insurance and reinsurance companies;
(ii) the amounts charged in the health plans agreements or services executed by the companies engaged in prepaid medicine, in the cases of companies engaged in prepaid medicine, and
(iii) the net income on account of interest charged in the financing granted to insurance takers, in the cases of companies that finance premiums, corresponding to the economic year that will end December 31, 2013, net of cancellation, return and reinsurance accepted.
